Upgrading from iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 to latest version?

A while ago I have successfully flashed a Liteon 93450c drive to iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 using JungleFlasher. I have used Xtractor Maximus, Vampire (a probe) and a Rebuild Board. The process involved cutting and soldering. The original drive firmware (Lite-OFW.bin) is what I have extracted.
Right now, the latest version is: LT+ v1.1 (will allow AP 2.5 backups).
My questions to you are theoretical, as I try to get my head around the theory and the processes involved.
1. To upgrade to the latest, do I need to revert back to original/official firmware?
2. If yes in question 1, do I need to open the console again and get to the drive, and connect the Xtractor Maximus and Vampire again and perform a dump again? I would need to erase the current iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 CFW and write the drive with the original firmware (using the Lite-OFW.bin file) or can I go directly to LT+ v1.1?
3. I am not clear on what is involved in reverting back to original firmware (if required), or to just go to LT+ v1.1?
If I need to hook my drive again, what is required as a connection? Connect everything identically as when the firmware was first extracted (Lite-OFW.bin)?
If I do not need to go to OFW, and can go directly to LT+ v1.1 I would need JungleFlasher and LT+ v1.1 files only? The "LT+ v1.1" would be the SOURCE field in JungleFlasher (by clicking on the "Open Source Firmware"), but what about the TARGET field? What is that?
The rebuild board has something called a Jumper J1 bridge that was soldered. Would I need to unbridge the J1 connection. They say that bridging should not be done until you have read the firmware (ie. I gather they meant until Lite-OFW.bin has been extracted). Now, the J1 bridge is closed.
I am really confused on what is needed and the logic from going to the latest "LT+ v1.1" and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
