Robin Hoods Playground

I was hoping to add a few case mods to one of my consoles and one of those being LED lights. I am just not sure what to look for or where to get the supplies. I was looking on eBay and found some LED strips but they all said that they were 12V... Would that be safe to use in an xbox console (I have little to no knowledge in power amounts). And also where would I wire the lights to within the console in order to power them? Any other advice would be appreciated as well. Thanks a lot.
