(Help) Hitachi GDR-3120L Vers.0079FL

I have a Stock never flashed Hitachi GDR-3120L Vers.0079FL
I'm running windows Vista!
I can get the drive into mode B and also get the drive to read and eject the audio cd.
I have a Ck3 that I purchased 2 years ago but I cannot locate the probe.
I have the drive hooked to a external power source and the Sata is hooked to a sata card
I have used this Sata card to flash my Ben-Q and my old Hitachi Drive.
I see there is a new firmware just released Hitachi_LT+
I downloaded it and JungleFlasher_v0.1.78_Beta_(182) I burned the 79 unlock cd burned it with imgburn.
Do I need a probe to flash this drive?
Do I need a Slax Cd?
What is the best method to use to flash this drive and what Software/tools are needed?
I see so many video's on youtube some show I need a probe and slax some show no probe or slax.
I rather ask then be sorry later that I did not!

all you need is the audio cd and jungle flasher
and yes the new ix LT+ for hiot dvd drives

the probe is for liteon dvd drive

I have got eveything hooked up,I open jungle flasher I see my drive, I hit mode B in JungleFlasher the tray closes
then I hit 79 Unlock I get not responding,I have waited for it to recover, closed Jungle and re-opened then
I get the Cd Pop up in windows I closed that then choose !
Dump Drive,Read to source.I get this message.I have no disk in the drive.

Drive rev undetermined, Aborting!

I have used JungleFlasher 0.1.76(166S) & JungleFlasher_v0.1.78_Beta_(182) All as a Admin.
Im on 32Bit Vista Any Ideas on what I can try?

well vista maybe the trouble
no sure
did you play the cd or just close the poup
you need to play it

man i have only done a few of these and the was a long time ago
but
i know i had to play the cd

i never had any luck with win7 or vista. used xp sp2or3 w/netframe work 2.0 or higher. u could either partition off 10gb of ur drive and install xp or install to a second drive. install all of ur portio32 and via card drivers. if u dual boot win7/vista and xp u will need to use easyBCD. when installing xp on a win7/vista machine the xp install overwrites MBR and will only allow xp to boot, so, the need for easyBCD ( use google to find).

the 78/79 unlock cd Dl has a link in new JF, burn to cd-r using image burn
follow the tutorial for JF as u work on the drive this is how i flashed my 79
make sure to put your hacked FW in the firmware folder of JF
and have spoofed the original key to the target FW
seems like alot, but win7/vista has to many probs with flashing drives

When doing a Hitachi in Vista do you remove the drivers when you are using a VIA card?

I removed the drivers to Via -VT6421 Card,Because my PC kept hanging up in JungleFlasher When set to Win Api.I also changed Win Api to Use Port IO. I opened JungleFlasher_v0.1.78_Beta_(182) I can see me drive in Port Properties but nothing shows where drive drop down tab is.So I choose Mode B in Jungleflaser the drive closes then I choose 79 Unlock as you can see below it went thru.I also backed up my Hit-OFW.bin by choosing Dump Drive Jungleflasher shows a good key.In the new jungle flasher it has Flash Lt-Plus no Flash Ixtreme.Im truely lost at this point all the video's I look at on youtube for this drive are old and the walkthru's do not explain in depth what steps to take with this new Lt Firmware someone please help I need a little guideance!

in the firmware 32 tab
place ur original key into the source box use "open source firmware" tab. point it to where it is saved.
"In the new jungle flasher it has Flash Lt-Plus no Flash Ixtreme" ( U HAVE NOT SPOOFED UR KEY OR LOADED THE HACKED F/W)
if u have DL'd the hacked f/w from xbins, place these into the firmware folder of JF.
you need to spoof the original key to the proper hacked f/w (Drive is rev 0079-4C30) click on target firmware tab LOOK FOR THIS REV IN THE HACKED F/W FOLDER AND THIS IS THE F/W U WANT TO SPOOF THE ORIGINAL INTO
click spoof to target
then rerun the sequence over.


SAVE THE ORIGINAL KEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
when using portio it is common for JF to report no HIT drive found. you have the OFW key burn this to a cd, e-mail it to yourself, whatever way you can securely save this file. if u loose this key it's gonna' b tough to reflash with newer updates in the future
