A friend has an Xbox360 that is banned from microsoft, he wants to know if he can still use netflix on it and don't play games, with the movies still work?

i believe u need to have an xbl gold account to use netflix. i just signed up for netflix and it ask for xbl code to stream to the box. so, my guess is no it will not work. u could use tversity but this does not have all the programs and movies that flix has, IMO

Yea, you need gold membership. Only way to verify gold membership is to connect to the xbox servers, which a banned xbox cannot do.
You can probably buy a set top box that just stream's netflix, and is able to watch network shared videos etc for a reasonable price, tell him to look into that.
