Hello all...I have 2 quick questions:

1. I have a lite-On 73 series with 1.5 ixtreme fw. I want to update to LT+. Can I do the update by just flashing the drive as it was never flashed before? Of course I understand i need to read the key and flash with JF. Just wanna make sure I'm not missing something.

2. I have a Ben Q flashed with LT. This drive is in a spare console that doesn't do XBlive because it's already banned. Do I still need to update the drive to LT+ in order to boot the newest games just?

thank you all in advance

1. If you are using JungleFlasher, power the drive with the tray half opened. Under the MTK tab select dummy from ixtreme and it should make a dump of the firmware that is on the drive. This will open in source firmware and will automatically show that tab in JungleFlasher. Select your target firmware (if you do not have LT+1.1 in the firmware folder within the JungleFlasher directory, you will have to search for and locate it wherever it is) and click spoof to target. Save this and go back to your MTK tab and click the LiteOn Erase tab, power cycle the drive when it is querying, and then click write once it is recognized. After that you are done.

2. You should always update your drives to the latest firmware to ensure that all games boot correctly (assuming the games are patched correctly), even if it is played offline.

Thank you... great response. That's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure that since my drive is already flashed with 1.5, all the needed information is inside the drive and I don't have to go back to stock fw and upgrade to lt+ 1.1 from there.

Is JF the only app available to flash LT+ 1.1? or is there any other app, maybe DOS flash?

You can use DOSflash but JF is much easier IMHO.
