iphone 3g

What are the physical difference between iPhone 3g and iPhone 3GS? Aside from increased ram, better processor, video capability, oil resistant screen, I have trouble differentiating iPhone 3g and iPhone 3gs. I heard that the lettering on the back of 3GS is shiny and chromed compared to the dull lettering on the 3g and the model number on the 3g is something like 1241 and the 3gs is 1321 or something like that.
