hi guys can someone correct me if i am wrond when i put a disc in my ps3 the blue light flickers as the disc is going in when it is in the blue light stays on does this mean the lazer is seeing the disc because the disc is not spinning at all , if so as the lazer gone and should the disc start spinning when it is in

If it doesnt spin at all, that means there is a problem with either the motor, or the laser, more likely the motor of the drive.

When you put a disk in a dvd drive the laser will turn on momentarily and can detect if there is a disk in the tray or not. A weak laser that is unable to read games can still tell there is a disk in the drive.

So unless your laser is not being powered at all, your drive motor is likely dead.
