360 Power up problem with no RROD
Ive got a black xbox here that won't turn on. As soon as I power it on, it starts up playing the XBOX intro for about .5 sec, shuts off, and continues in that fashion in a loop. If I unplug the video output, the center light on the power button is solid green. If the video cable is plugged in, the power light flashes while going thru the loop. It never gets a rrod, just keeps looping the half sec of intro. Any ideas????

as long as the light on the power supply stays green
it has to be in the console
even though it dont rrod on you it could be a error
try to start the console with out a HD on it or with a different Hd on it
also try and clear the cache

i cant clear the cache because the system keeps doing an intro loop. The xbox only stays on for half a second, and restarts.

Is your dvd drive plugged in?
Also, have you recently tried to take an update?

Re: 360 Power up problem with no RROD
Im not to sure what happened to it. Pretty sure it wasnt an update. Dont think this xbox has ever been connected to the internet. I modded this xbox for my ex bosses kid about 6 months ago, and it developed this problem recently. I havent opened it up yet to check inside. I was thinking power supply also, but the light on the power supply stays green and I dont have another one handy to check it out. The xbox was mfg in 9/2009 but i think it was bought right before christmas last year, so it may have warranty still. Im thinking of just ordering the warranty stickers off of eBay and having her return it to best buy for an exchange. How deep into the xbox do they look to see if it has been modded? I know I have to return the drive to stock and replace the stickers, but is there anything else I need to do so it will be an easy return?
Re: 360 Power up problem with no RROD
well for the most part the sticker is all they will look at
most people dont even flash back to stock
how would they ever know
im not sure what best buy return policy is.
have a read over This
if its a slim you may could do this
if its a older console then it would be hard

All best buy does is scan the serial make sure it was bough from them, then they check and make sure the S/N on the back of the console matches the one where the usb ports are on the front.
If your console is older than 1 year and you dont have the best buy warranty, they will charge you to repair it. So if you send it off to Microsoft as long as the sticker is intact and the original xclamps are in place you will be fine.
2009 is young enough to be covered under Microsoft's extended warranty until 2012 so if best buy refuses it, send it to M$.
