hello all
iv held off doing this upto 1.9 as i had a legal hit but its just 2rrod on me while codd'ing 3 hours ago

sod's law
so i have to flash my liteon 7s to stock using jungleflasher 1.83 (last 1) then upto 1.9
my 1st serious problem is im not sure which of my 2 liteon 7s go with which fw backup ... so i guessed using the date the folder was created and the amount of dust in the console - dont laugh lol
anyhow iv decided upon the fw im using and created my fw using the stock fw and im using shootsteele's vid with jf 1.66b for 7s drive...
i have loaded my cfw into jf (which shows drive but no key-i guess thats because it has lt1 on) and hooked up the drive which shows in jf ... then i clicked on liteon erase in 360tools in jf, and it warned me it cannot verify the key i clicked ok to carry on and the warning for am i realy sure i want to carry on- i clicked yes and then jf says status 0x0 ??? well this is its log the stage 2 fail i assume is cos of not being able to see key :-
Firmware Osig: [PLDS DG-16D2S 7485]
Firmware is: iXtreme LT
Stage 2 failed
Sending Lite-On-Erase request to port 0xBF00
..............
Drive returned Status 0x0
....................
Device Intro failed!
im unsure of what to do, the drive doesnt open (i know iv been here b4 but used iprep & dos-i miss them)
i used jf to go back to stock with a sammy the other day so the drivers are fine ?
i just clicked outro atareset and the drive info has dissapeared ??? still dont open or close ?
can any body point me in the right direction

you flash back to stock the same way you flashed in a hacked firmware
then take the update
then flash back to the new hacked firmware
watch some of the liteon flash guides for jungle flasher
they should help

theres a 1.84 j.f out so get that to start with. if the drive is erased just open j.f put your cfw in source and the 7 series stock firmware in target and spoof source to target. now you have said you would rarther use iprep so get the 10.7 iprep and use that to write the firmware you have just made with jf just change the file so iprep will recognise it THEN L74 1234567 12345 W AT THE END it will go straight to the write process i presume you know all about the iprep method it works

cheers cofree / gazza
i think iv finally killed a liteon
i have a usb stick with iprep 10.7 on it so i tried the way i know -all drives unplugged- type dos then dosflash yaddayadda but when i choose my drive number it said "unknown flash chip" ? wahh ! it was working ?!?!?!
is this fixable ? i havent got a bloody clue of the problem but like i said im unsure of which fw backup belongs to which drive :headshake:
if the liteon is fixable, and i flash the wrong key to it will it die ? or will i get the chance to reflash it with the other fw backup ?
in iprep after typing dosflash i didnt get to type l-o-eras ? it just went straight to choosing a drive ? does iprep method still work ?
"i know theres a few mashed up questions there - sorry if its not inteligable but seriously thanks for your help"
i gota go sleep bbl

try it on a pv that has onbo sata
no pci sata card
just onbo sata
there is a way to use jungle flasher on a via card but its a pain

if you have got back to stock with the iprep 10.7 once you have taken the update you can do the same procedure again. load the cfw from your first flash in j.f source and the lt 1.9 in target spoof source to target . and save the file on your desk top . the file you saved on the desk top will need changing from lite_cfw to l74cfw just assuming it is a liteon to the file name that the iprep program will recognise put that file in the backup folder of iprep that file should be in 2 folders call the first folder 1234567 and second folder 12345 put the file you made on the desktop with jf in folder 12345 then drag that folder into 1234567 folder drag that into ipreps back up folder now boot into dos on the iprep usb stick once its opened up go through procedure if its liteon or whatever drive lets say L74 1234567 12345 W just make sure you put the w at the end it will write the cfw file you put in the backup folder in iprep just follow instructions and your drive will be flashed . And the answer to the question about flashing it with the wrong file that wont stop you flashing it again going the iprep route. this is in your case as you have two files and you are not sure which is the right one . just one more thing you dont have to do half tray open when you just want to write the firmware just hook up to via card and ck3 for power
