hi guys aqnd gals,
well i had 2 working ps3's,now none!!!
ps3 number 1 was constantly freezing with blackops,its on 3.66 fw(newest).i dissasembled and cleaned the laser with a cotton bud(Q-tip for the american brothers,lol)
now the laser wont read anything at all!!
ps3 number 2 had faulty laser,so i replaced and it was working.now when i power it on,i get the blue flashing light,im sure it thinks disc is still in drive..there isnt one.
i have replaced the disc sensor,and still the same.i checked to see if gears were aligned correctly,and they are..
im stumped,so any info will be gratefully recieved.im sick of these ps3's,thank goodness i still got my 360

sounds like you have done what i would have

yeah,im going to try and change the drive in ps3 number 2,and see if i still get blue flashing light.as far as number 1 goes think i need to get new laser.im also going to strip down and reaplly thermal paste and put some washers in before i screw heatsink down.

keep us up on how it goes

new laser in ps3 number 1 seems to have done the trick.am waiting until i recieve my usb fan to change the thermal paste on chips.will use fan to get a nice airflow aaround ps3.
not had time to work on ps3 number 2 yet,but will let ya know how it goes

update on ps3 number 2.........
i took daughter board off drive with flashing blue light and fitted it to another bluray drive.still getting flashing blue light!!!!!!!!!!!
so am wondering if its something else apart from the disc sensor..im a little stumped here

wish i know more about ps3
