Up to now, I have only ripped games using my jtag'd 360 straight to hard drive, and now want to make use of one of my non-recoverable rrod boxes.
What 360 drives are currently flashable with the 0800 firmware (and can be used with my pc), and best method for cleanly ripping an xbox backup? I got enough dead xbox that drive type don't matter, so if there is a preference let me know (as long as it isn't from a slim).

You can use BENQ, Sammy and some LITS. just flash it with 0800 FW....
Personaly i use an old MS28 and never had a problem with that ever.
