xbox freezeing up

got a xbox here, it plays dvds great and stays on without any problems but as soon as i put a game in or connect it to xbox live it freezes up
and i have to turn it off and back on.
any idea whats wrong with this?

is it giving a error code or rrod
is it a backup game
if so try a original game

sounds like to me
its a backup ap25 game with the wrong stealth files in it
for the dash you are running

it was the harddrive
was trying to recive update and recover gamertag and the xbox just kept freezing up.
same when i booted a game it just froze.
plugged a usb stick in it and it ran fine, got the updates etc and games booted straight up.
