after you get the v78 in mode B you can not power off the drive .
if you do it will lose modB.

man
i dont know
if i under stand right.
you got the v78 in modeB but when you power down the computer to boot in windows it wont do it.
the only thing is make sure that your hard drive is in the list of boot devices.
I just dont know.I would thing that something hade to change with your computer for it to work
1 time now this time it wont.

If you have RAID enabled in your bios, try disabling it. Also are you using onboard SATA or PCI SATA to flash? Usually the Hitachi's aren't too picky, but sometimes there can be issues with onboard SATA. The VIA6421A chipset on the PCI SATA is always best for flashing.

I don't power down my PC. After it gets verified mode b, I just reset the PC. Dunno if that will help your situation, could just be a flaky drive. But yeah, check to see if raid is enabled and disable if it is. If it worked for the other 78, it should work for this one too.
