Hello Everyone, I came across a death box, i am in the middle of repairing it or throw away. My question is, will I be able to get a drive for it and if there is a way to get the original drive key that belongs to the unit? Remember it does not have a drive, but the rest of the parts in in it's place. Thanks in advance

i would put any drive in it
just to see if it will play a dvd movis
if so then the console maybe ok

then you would need to get this when its released
you should be able to get the dvd drive key from a nand dump :D

Hello CoFree, I used my usbjtag to obtain a full flash of my xbox and the nand. My question is what should I do next to obtain the Drive Key?

Hardware used: USBJTAG NT

How you go about it depends on what dashboard revision you are on. If you are on dashboard revision 7371 it is easy to get the information. If not, it gets more complicated. Get back with your dashboard revision number (located under console settings) and post here.

For this, you will need to use the Reset Glitch Exploit. I would recommend getting a TX Coolrunner when it is released (should be real soon), this will allow you to install xell to your xbox, then get your cpu key and dvd key. This is all relatively new, and can be read about here http://bit.ly/ps6lXE and here http://bit.ly/oPaTKi.

What will I gain for installing Xell? I see always videos of blue screen with text and nothing really about games.
I have been reading alot of this reset glitch thing and it's kinda confusing, it sound soo much going on. Would it be just like flashing a drive? In other words a 1,2,3 steps.

EDIT: I do have something similar to the one that team xecuter is about to release. I got a Xilinx CoolRunner 2 XC2C64A, but dont know what to do with it. LOL

It will get you a usable xbox again. The part will cost about $20, and will allow you to install a program called xellous on your xbox. If you boot to xellous, you can get your cpu and dvd keys. Get the dvd keys, and you can program those keys to your dvd drive and get it working again. (The dvd drive keys marry it to that specific xbox, with incorrect keys all you have is a dvd player, it will never play xbox games). The coolrunner is an efficient way to perform the reset glitch hack, with boot times in about 5 seconds of trying.

That is about it for now, as far as what it is useful for. Hopefully, in the near future, it will provide functionality similar to a jtag'd xbox 360 with it's own custom dashboard.

thanks for the quick response. Is there a step by step tutorial for the reset glitch? do I need to use/wait for the team xecuter coolrunner or can i use my Xilinx CoolRunner 2 XC2C64A?

Yes. Might be a bit slower at actually booting the glitch, though.
