I think this is already used in transportation. Google Japanese Maglev pretty sure it uses a very similar concept to this.

Actually wait a second, we can come up with something like this, but no one is able to create a battery that will power my cell phone for more than 12 - 18 hours with moderate use

12-18 hours? I'm lucky if I get 8-10. lol

I generally leave my 3G off if I keep it on all day I'll get like 6 hours. With Wifi on all day I'll get about 8-10 with it off I'll get about 12
