Hi Guys
I need to replace my liteon 83850v1 drive can anyone give me any options will any liteon drive do or will I have to get the exact same one .

you can replace with 7/8v1/8v2/and 9 series liteon fat all use the same firmware /02510c

dont get a different drive, the dash update that flashed your drive with different firmware required your console to have its original drive, so i suggest you get the same drive you have now just incase we have another update like this :)

as long as you stick with a liteon your good. Can just switch the boards as well.

just a reply to louis suggestion.Just keep your old drive and attach for dash updates then just put your other drive back after update if you want to be super safe about it

The drive is starting to sound like a airplane taking off and not reading the disks properly ,can't complain a new drive should sort it out, thanks everyone again for the help.

ahh right, as gazzer said, you can get another drive, doesnt have to be the same, but keep your current one, when theres a dashboard update use that drive to update :)
