Hello comrades..

So a friend of mine brought his xbox over for me to upgrade his firmware. I used iprep to read the firmware and key information from the drive. When the reading was over it showed that the original drive that came with the console was a lite-on, however now flashed as a benq. After booting into windows to check the dump, It showed that there were two dumps, the Benq_OFW and the Benq_CFW .bin files. I wanted to restore stock firmware so that I could update the dashboard so I created a hacked firmware using the Benq_OFW and a benq firmware that I had downloaded from xbins in JungleFlasher. Went back into dos and flashed the drive now I get a E65 error message. I took out the drive and the consoles boots fine.

Can someone advise me on the correct procedure have have this corrected?

It almost sounds like you used the pre dash orig try the post one

Also I don't think you can use a spouted drive it has to be the orig type that was in it to begin with

Yes I used the pre dash. I was also thinking that I my need to use the Benq_CFW that I got from the dump? I'm thinking that the CFW (custom firmware) would have the lite-on info? He does not have the orig Lite-on drive that the console came with. I'm thinking that the "now" benq drive would have had the "key" from the lite-on thus the reason it was playing in the console.

Proposed fix... Shoud I use the Benq_OFW.bin from the dump and spoof it with the orig post benq dash? Or, Shud I used the Benq_cfw from the dump and spoof it with the post benq dash? Or, shoud I use the Benq_OFW and spoof it with the post Lite-on dash? Or, use the Benq_CFW and spoof it with the Lite-on post dash?

your NEVER gunna get the console back up and running unless you have a liteon drive (same revision as the orginal) to finish off the update

the update asks the console whats the original drive, then when it says its a light on it tries flashing liteon firmware to the benq drive

obviously it wont work, basically you need the same liteon drive it came with

no, you NEED a liteon drive, the same one that was in the console to begin with, what does the benq firmware say its spoofed as?

Yeah as long as you get the same type of liteon that was in it to begin with then you can use the dump of the dummy that you have.

The dump from the Benq said its spoofed as a liteon. He does not have the original liteon drive but I can get one being that my xbox has a liteon.

yuo could use your lite on from your drive mate, but it has to be the same version lite that he had, where it says spoofed as write fully what is says here
