My understanding is that ABGX is NOT compatible with the newer XGD3 (Unless they released a new version I'm not aware of). For that reason, ABGX won't recon the newer games.

As far as I can recall, the latest version of XBC does not have an install.exe or setup.exe file (there is no installation process). Basically, you have to extract the contents of XBC.zip onto whatever folder you choose.
I really don't think it matters if you extract the contents to "my documents" or "my pictures" or whatever.

Do this:
1. Download latest XBC. (it should be in .zip or .rar format)
2. Download dae.bin
3. Extract/unzip XBC.zip to "my documents". Do the same for the dae.bin
4. Enter My documents folders. At this ppoint the XBC icon should be there, and so the unzipped dae.bin file.
5. Insert an XGD3 game in you 0800v3 drive
6. Start XBC
7. Before you start ripping, make sure that your specific DVD brand in selected in the options tab.
Also make sure that you selected the ASPI option in the XBC main menu
8. Hit start ....If "Start" is greyed out, you probably do not have ASPI drivers installed. Install'em first and repeat steps 5-8

That's all I can come up with.

you have to get the xbc 2.5 it has the install.exe in it
then you get the xbc 2.9 and run that over the top of the xbc 2.5
you can get both here
