Spoofed BenQ Flash from 1.2 to 1.9

Post by JKinney »

Okay, its been a while since I flashed my drive with LT+ 1.2. I have now revisited this after an original GOW3 would not play, and would not update the console from the disk. My stock 360 updated fine.
Background: My XBox had a Lite-on 83850C and I had troubles with playing Black Ops, so I bought a Benq and spoofed as an 83850C and this fixed the problem.
After reading much info here, I think I know what I need to do, but would like some confirmation. I need to re-flash the stock FW on to the original Lite-on drive, install this drive and get the latest dash and update the dash via USB. Then I can flash the Benq with LT+1.9 - post 13141 FW. I would use the OFW from the benq drive and spoof as the lite-on and use the original key of the lite-on. Is this correct? Am I missing anything?
Thanks in advance for your help.

you need to get a dive like the one that was stock in that console
when you try to update a console that has a spoofed drive in it
it will give you trouble

the reason being
the update flashes the dvd drive
and it also knows what drive the console had in it to start with
and will only flash that kind of drive
so if you have a spoofed drive it geeks it out
and it has trouble

Thanks CoFree for the clarification. I inserted the original 83 with stock firmware and the update was installed successfully. My next move was to flash post LT+ to the benq and spoof (the 83 lite-on is not a great drive). Will this not work anymore?
