I have a console and cant get the proper codec on it!

Question 1.

Can i get it on there somehow?

question 2.

if not can i use something like tversity to code it on the fly to something the box will play?

if the console is on line
when you try to pay the avi it will tell you a update is needed
then you just take the update

if its not on line
set up wmc on your console and pc
and it has a good chance of playing it

or you could recode it to a wmv file and the console should play that.

Thanks cofree, will try the wmc route as it would save some problems. Also trying out tversity to see if it can transcode the xvid to wmv and see if it does it well.

Update:

Tried wmc and it still required a codec download!

Now using tversity which seems to be ok. Just wish my server wernt poorly powered!
