backed up games no longer work.

I have a benq drive and I am not sure what version firmware it has on it. All my older games like UFC undisputed 2011 and Forza 3 all worked. I have not used my xbox in over a year. I could not get it to connect to a system link to play with my friends at a LAN party. I then ran all of the updates and was able to play Halo reach off an original copy. When I got back home and tried my older backed up discs no of them would work. All I got was a big XBOX 360 logo and a menu like a DVD player.
What is wrong here?
