hitachi gdr 3120 v78

I have tried everything I know to get this hitachi done, I am pretty sure it has been flashed before. I am using windows vista 32 bit. using the newest version of jf, the drive shows up on the left under vendor but I cant seem to get it into mode b. Several times I got it to say mode b done but it immediatly goes to no hitachi drive found. I am using win api setting in jf and I am not sure about my card but it is one I was told to get and I have used it numerous times before, I am not sure about the drivers disabling part ? this may be my problem ? I also tried using the slax disk to get into mode b with no results.It also will not let me chose port IO in jf ? thanks for any suggestions. I also noticed in device manager it says no drivers are installed for my raid controller, dont know if this means anything ? thanks
