Small question ref Dvd drives on xbox

My xbox has been working now for ages but the dvd drive has died. It was a lite-on and I have the dvd key. Got a spare Benq and have flashed that with the dvd key from my lite-on drive and all seems to be working... should I be worried about the drive beening different? I have not sproof it!
