Run the system update it prompts you to run when you access the disk on the Wii and it will allow you to get back into the settings menu, I ran it yesterday after Mario Kart Pal locked it up. It works on NTSC-only consoles and stresses if you use it on any other region wii, it will brick it. It worked seamlessly for me, but apparently it is still buyer beware
