Here is one of the big guys we have to share the river with.
This is one of the small ones.
Sometimes I don't like to share the river lol

Are they easy to get along with? How often do gator attacks happen down there?

We might see one or two in the course of the boating season. I've only been attacked twice! Naw, they mostly go after dogs and stuff like that. I can't remember the last time I heard of a human getting attacked. The latest thing is the sturgeons jumping out of the water and hitting boaters and jet skiers and injuring them pretty bad. I had to duck under one last year. And that's no joke! They get up to 4-5 feet long, and jump 3-4 feet out of the water. You can imagine what that would do to you at 40 mph!

I've actually heard of sturgeons getting up to about 14 feet and weighing as much as 400 lbs. The world record, I think is 468 lbs. At any rate, I wouldn't want to get hit by anything with me traveling 40 MPH, let alone a huge fish like that.

I'm sure they get bigger than what I said, but I've only seen them at this size. Yeah, a 14" mullet would probably mess you up at 40 mph! Cofrees jet ski will do around 70 mph and mine will do 40-45 mph. At 70 he's either dead or going to the hospital!

Ha Ha, I had to teach my wife the process. Just remember "turn towards trouble". If the trailer starts to go to the right, you turn to the right. Same way with left. It's really simple once you get the concept. Also go slow. The trailer gets less out of shape if you take your time. And most of all, don't let the people that are watching and laughing at you get you nervous.
I have a SeaDoo and cofree's are Yamahas. Both are great. I think I'm going to trade my boat for another SeaDoo pretty soon though and get a double trailer. Gas has gotten to expensive to take two vehicles and two watercraft to the water.

I lived in Alexandria Louisiana (near Fort Polk) for several years and I only heard of one gator attack on humans. Seen many a neighbor hood dog on "missing" posters though.
