Hello all
I got given a old 360 3 RROD turned out to be the power cable thats all

, It has the Samsung drive ms25 so i thought i would flash it tried had no luck, It read like this on the menu,
1 XTREME Sec Master
2 XTREME Sec Slave
When i turn off the drive and press 1 for the ten secound count i get this, Port 970 Master/Slave a0 so i tried on 3 diffrent Pc`s same. So i bought a x360 usb kit....tired of taking my pc apart allso. So just tried to flash it and guess what same this the read does not start at all.... I can leave it 10 seconds or upto 15 seconds does not start to read at all.
any info would be great in the meentime i`ll trawl the forums some more
*Edit would it help trying to swap usb ports with the X360 ??*

you can not use a x360 sata to usb on a v25 or v28 drives.
you need a via6421a or L pci sata card.

if you have not have a look at this.

That's predominately because of the way mtkflash works. Its setup to see the first two ports of a sata controller. But then you add in the fact that generally, the config file of mtkflash has been modded to make certain controllers work, the port number of one of the controllers ports is injected into the config file, that leaves you with the first port or port 0 that will be able to be used to flash a 360 drive with.
I would say that 99% of nforce sata controller users end up have to get a VIA controller add on card. One that has the VIA 6421A or L chipset. In fact, CoFree linked to one in his last post. You might check into that if you can't get it to work with your nforce controller.

Have a look at this thread. It may shed some light on where to find a sata card.

i think that card should be fine.
you would use the port on the inside of the computer after you have installed it.
most of the time that is.

go into step by step what and when you are doing.
if it a v25 and it has not been flashed before you dont have to do the 10sec trick.
if it a v28 you have to do the 10sec trick to get in the drive.
i would use iprep 101 v006.2 beta
have a look at this.

I have watched your video about 10 times now fella and it just does not start to dump. The only thing different from my screen to yours is the fact i have two option`s XTREAM Primary and an XTREAM Slave . Again i have tired both of the option`s tho your video states choose the Master. its getting annoying now. *Pulls out what hair he as left*

well it should list as
xtreme pri master
after you build your boot flash and power down.
make sure to unplug all the other drives in your computer cd/dvd and hard drive.
What that means is the computer is not seeing the 360 drive. There are many different thing that can be causing this problem.
Chipset will not work. Most sata ports on the mobo will not work.
Try a different port on your sata card. The port closest to the front most of the time is the one to use.
Try a different sata card. This a card that is known to work (i know you have the card)
Try a different sata cable
Put the sata card in a different pci slot
I would try this just for kicks before the next step.Try a floppy maybe that will do it (don't hold your breath)
You may even need to try a different computer. This is rare how ever it will happen some time.
