Hello, my previous samsung ms28 x360 had a broken dvd drive and even though I sended it in with the warranty label broken I recieved a brand new x360 manufactered this september with a Benq drive. I'm trying to flash this now with iPrep 0.0.6. Everything goes fine, I get the 0xD1/0x51 Switching, turn it off and power it back on after few seconds. Then I get the drive ok 0x73 command and it starts reading bank 1 but after that it doesnt do anything?? It just stops at that point and my power led from the x360 is flashing if thats normal. I'm using a ViA8237 chipset to flash the drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

i dont think your sata card is compatible. the 6421 is the best to use.

Even if that card flashed the samsung drive that don't mean it will flash the BenQ.I have not tried that chipset so i don't know.
That does seem odd that it starts then stops.

This card works great for the samand the benQ drive. (via6421)

I use a cheapo non-raid Syba card VIA 6421L that I bought from Newegg. It's flashed every Hitachi up to a V78, both Samsungs and the Benq's. It works like a charm.

Thanks for the responses, odd imo since the card is in fact at least compatable with dosflash which is used for the flashing. I'll give it some more tries today and otherwise get a cheap via pci card. I was wondering also how long the reading of the fw takes? is it only a mere seconds like the samsung?
