when i open pwnage on the wife's mac .pops open a red window that says.

you dont appear to have itunes 7.7 or later version.you will need to upgrade it to be able to restore with custom firmware.

i have a filling im going back to the shop.if i have to update itunes in one or both of my computers it will take to long.ill just go back to the shop for the update.
what do you think.

i checked both the computers and here at the house i have 7.6 on all the computer.2 laptops(one is a mac) and two desktop.
i remeber i never update itunes because its so damn big.i put it on my flash and bring it home,and have not done that lately.

so im heading to the shop as soon as the wife gets home.

it was stuck in a reboot loop.
i was able to get it out by holding the power and the home button for about 20sec.
then put it back in recover mode and flashing in the oirg firmware.
this one is a 32gb and it is being a pain in the ass

i got the orig 2.0 update from"apple" doing a itunes restore.
got the file from deep in the c drive.
made a NEW hack firmware with winpwn.that part went fine again.
put the ipod in recover mode,and started flashing in the hack firmware.
it started and then gave me a 1602 error just like last night.
for some reason it will give me a error 1602 sometimes and others it will give me a 1601 error.
this bad boy is going back to the store today.
im going to look for a 8 or 16gb ipod.

i got a 8gb touch.
i used winpwn to build a new 20 hacked firmware.
first i updated to 20 orig firmware.then tried to flash in the hacked 20 firmware.
i got the same damn 1602 error.
now im going to install itunes 7.6 and try to down grade back to 1.4 orig firmware.
ill post back.

installed itunes 76 and could not get the ipod to mount up to itunes no mater what.
ive put back itunes 77 for now.

ok now i have moved back over to the mac.
i built the (new) hack firmware again.then tried to flash in the ipod.it does the same thing again.
the pineapple reboots over and over.same shit.
im doing a 20 recover on it now.
it went fine.im back at orig 20 firmware.

ok done some reading.
some say to uninstall everything itunes.i have now done that .
i have also read that i need itunes 7.5 to down grade a 20 firmware.im now going to install that and try to down grade from 2.0 back to 1.4.
i have read that removing all itunes apps could help stop the 1602 or 1601 error i have been getting.

got it down graded to v1.4

i had to uninstall ever thing that had to do with itunes.
all temp files every thing.i do mean ever thing.

then i installed itunes 7.5 put the ipod in restore.
it restored the v1.4 firmware just fine.

so

now i think i want to flash this v1.4 with iliberty like i did my 16gb touch.

it is now flashed with iliberty and running installer.
now i can relax.crap this has been killing me.
the last time i was this worked up i was installing a mod chip in my first xbox and running the installer.

I pat myself on the back and say that a boy.

Glad you got it working... I can relate, been going nuts figuring out what the hell was failing on my PC and fixing it.

@CoFree, sorry I wasn't on Saturday night. Seems someone decided they didn't need their car anymore and decided to wrap it around a utility pole around where I live sometime Friday night. Took out all my communications, telephone, television and internet. Just got everything back this morning. Internet is still running slow though.

Cool that you got it back to 1.1.4 and ran iLiberty+ on it. I still don't know why we couldn't get it pwned at 2.0 though. I made a post over on hackint0sh. Maybe I can get an answer there and get you up to 2.0, or maybe they'll release winpwn 2.5 before to long.

Would unlocking a 3g iphone do you any good?? Does your current provider offer 3g yet? I would say that with the new version of winpwn, you "might" be able to unlock them. I know they were talking about it, but don't know if it will be included with the new version or not.

im on alltel/verision so i would have to unlock it to use it here.
im just starting to look into the iphone thing.
