well some feed back as far as dumping of the liteon...

report shows that a dump using the usb connection with the xtractor tools proves true. the key,inquiry, and identity.bin were dumped through windows with no problem. several dumps were preformed and key is correct.

i used a conductive pen with liquid silver to bridge the rx and tx lines. even though a new "spear" has been created to do the bridging solder free.

the over priced xtractor worked great for me and there software as far as dumping worked dead on.
now as for there portion of the spoofing of the software, that is yet to have a trial run...

i also used the sata card recommended by cofree and his great advice with iprep...

I followed the "new video guide" and used the Maximus Extractor with the Spear.It all worked great
to get all the files out with Jungleflasher.Then the USB Boot(modified Sansung).The only thing that was not like the video for me was...I had to write liteon e to erase the FW.But then it wrked flawless.

Don't use the Xtractor reader for dumping your Lite-On files.
Caster said that it is not getting all the information from the drive. Identity, inquiry and key.bin are not enough to make a dummy.bin. Use DVDkey or Jungleflasher / Iprep 8.8. They wil also create a dummy.bin, which contains information the identity, key and inquiry.bin does not contain!

The dummy.bin that the new DVDkey creates includes additional responses from the drive that are not included in identify.bin/inquiry.bin/key.bin. You cannot create a complete dummy.bin from those three files. That is my point. Xtractor does not do this, Jungleflasher and DVDkey do. Try using Jungleflasher to read your key/indent/inquiry and check the dummy.bin it makes before you point fingers...

So, when you give Jungleflasher the three files, it is making it as complete as possible. It isnt the applications fault that you havent provided it with enough information to make a compete dummy.bin. Your 'test' proves nothing except that the application is functioning properly.

The dummy.bin that you are creating from those three files alone are as complete as they will ever be. The dummy.bin created by the new dvdkey, jungleflasher and the new dosflash include additional responses!!!!

I STATE IT AGAIN - XTRACTOR SOFTWARE DOES NOT ISSUE ENOUGH CDBS TO THE DRIVE TO MAKE A COMPLETE DUMMY.BIN. IDENTIFY/INQUIRY/KEY ARE NOT SUFFICIENT!

hmmmm. I wonder if the same thing holds true for the CK3 Tool?? I originally dumped my key, identify and inquiry using CK3 Tool, but didn't use those files to create my dummy.bin. I used jungleflasher to do so. I dunno why, just something that I did because I was following the jungleflasher instructions.

I used the Maximus tool to flash my lite-on a couple weeks ago. Luckily I used JF for the key, bin, and inquiry.

I have the 360 Xtractor and i love that thing. Very easy. Havent used CK3. But i am guessing they are fairly close to the same thing these days. I use the xtractor with jungle flasher and i have no problems just did a lite-on yesterday it was done in less than 2 minutes. I dont think you are going to go wrong with either product.

I have used both Xtractor reader and jungle flasher to read keys with zero problems.

cofree - with the tut you gave on flashing the liteon drive using iprep after soldering the 707, does that do all that inquiry, key and bin stuff for you or do you still have to extract that stuff before you use iprep?

iprep will do it all.
it dumps the files builds the dummy file and then you can flash the drive.
