Hi all,
I flashed my nephews 360 last night(Hitachi 0047DJ), and everything went fine

, except for when i try a backup it says unplayable disc?

it plays originals fine and i don't get the "please put this disc into an xbox360" message.I only use verbatim media, could the laser be on its way out or need tweaking? are there any tuts for tweaking the laser?.
Look forward to replies
Fozzy

Thanks for the rapid reply, Game plays fine in my 2 xbox's one has benq drive the other a 0079fk, never had an issue with games not playing so guess its a laser problem.
Thanks

i've been in the same boat with those old hits! u can either replace the laser, try the pot tweak or replace the drive

Hi, just thought would give you an update on the laser tweaking. Have done it this morning, the original reading from the dvd pot was 3.95k ohms, and gradually decreased the resistance to 3.11k ohms and it works great. I didn't want to go to low as not sure about burning out the laser. if the tut is accurate then this setting should be ok as 2.8kohms is a minimum recommended setting. I thought it was going to be a real p.i.t.a but turned out really easy. I will now what to do when my own 2 360's start giving me the "please clean the disc message"
Thanks for your advice

good work, it can do the job on a dying laser
