hi this screenshot should explain what i need my floppy was made with iprep 006 and ixtreme 1.41

iprep should have made you "cfw" the hacked firmware.
when you use a floppy it will take a min or two form firmtool to run and build your hacked firmware.

im using a flash so firmtool starts fast,but a floppy takes some time to start.
you need to have all other cd/dvd drives and hard drives unhooked when you do the dump.
if you have another sata drive hooked up firmtool will not run.

when i dumped it i had my hard drive still plugged in nothing else was but can u plz just tell me where the ix14.bin should be in the floppy?

it will be in the backup folder
in the same place as the orig firmware.

both firmware will be in there if firmtool started and built your hacked firmware.
if your HD is a sata ,firmtool DID NOT start and build your hacked firmware.

yes i had to manually build the hacked firmware i palced my ORIG.BIN into the 12x folder in the iXtreme 1.41 folder and clicked the Make iXtreme Firmware.cmd

then all you need to do is put it in the backup folder named the right name and run the fben command

what should the name be i renamed the ix14.bin to BENQ-CFW.BIN and once i write to the drive should i get the same datasum i got when i read the drive?

did it flash in the dvd drive.
if so put it together and see if it plays with no error
try a orig then try a backup.

when i renamed the ix14.bin does it matter if it was uppercase or lowercase? this is exactly how i named mine all in upercase BENQ-CFW.BIN should it have been BenQ-CFW.BIN with the "en" in lowercase?

i dont think it will mater,but all my backups are in caps,not lower case

yes but are your hacked firmware in uppercase too? and i got B964 as my datasum after i read the drive and after i wrote to the drive i got 864E did i do something wrong?

not sure why you have used the method you are using! but...

uppercase or lower case shouldn't matter // to stick with the usual way it is generated > use uppercase

create a folder (subdir) inside backups called > custom
inside this folder create another folder (subdir) called > fw

in the fw folder place the hacked firmware : BENQ-CFW.BIN

"Make sure you check the firmware in firmware toolbox before flashin - it needs to have a valid key etc."

boot off iprep & run the command : fben custom fw

hey presto... it will flash

what confuses me little about this situation is.. you have dumped the drive & when you dump it automaticly builds the hacked firmware for you. If it hasn't built the hacked firmware then something is wrong! proceed with caution!!

not sure but once it dumps the firmware the floppy seems to die and not start up the firmtool i disconnected all other drives like cd and harddrive. i checked then ix14.bin and it has my key correctly. and i renamed it BENQ-CFW.BIN and flashed it and tested out my 360 and it reads backup games. what is the speed of a 360 that is not flashed? i used 12x should i have used 8x? i want to use the speed closest to original 360 speed.

12x is stock - I'm glad it all worked out for you
