John Schappert, Corporate Vice President of Xbox LIVE, Services and Software, announced today during his Tokyo Game Show keynote that the New Xbox Experience will ship to Xbox 360's around the world (in 26 countries, localized in 11 languages) on November 19th 2008.

with the dash update, will the firmware be replaced??

I was just curious. I know dash updates in the past haven't, but none of them have been as significant as this...

I think they have... these updates always seem to put people on edge - personally i'm quitley confident but you cannot rule anything out. We'll just have to wait & see

I've said this many times & it's nothing to boast about but everytime I peel a warrenty sticker of a box I have already accepted the potential concequences... I know we all want to avoid it & of course we will look for solutions to every problem but you have to expect some cat & mouse antics - It's not surefire.

has anyone seen the post on xboxhacker about a beta version of the dash being released??

I think you can only install it on 'vulnerable' boxes with a base of 1888, and it is a little buggy apparantly, but it shows off some of the new features, including HD install for games.

MIght have to find one of those BEVS series drives

ive heard about it but not looked into it much.

The main reason behind is to reduce the disk scratching complaints as the problem is still there in many consoles (including mine)....plus it is very costly to run a Disk Replacement program that MS is running right now......
I'm not a insider but heh put yourself in a situation that MS is facing right now...then think what you'll do.....Yes I bet you'll also come with a update like that...isn't it.

...and that's why I installed the "scratch pads" in all of my 360 systems...the discs can't get scratched now...no matter how much accidental moving of the console takes place! I'm glad I did.

Well, in regards to disk scratching, I think it would be kinda hard to implement a software solutions to a hardware problem. Granted, they may be able to reduce the chances of it through software, but they won't be able to eliminate it. I have a box that RROD'd on me that I've repaired. I'm planning on taking the update on that box as soon as its available. We'll see what happens first hand. I think MsK is planning to do the update as well so we should have plenty of news to go around.

i think they will gather data for a few days or weeks and then bang your banned.

I would say your right about nothing happening on day one. History seems to show that it generally starts happening a few days later.

think ill be staying offline for the 1st few days of the new dashboard update then haha
