PC-DL-DVD-ROM for 360?

I got my first console the Xbox360 Pro a couple of weeks ago but when I checked my brand new GTA:IV disk today...I was shocked it had very small odd-scraches (not deep), But the console was still able to play it
. Obviously 360 drives aren't that reliable.....
So the thought crossed my mind that what if I can get a SATA PC-DVD DL ROM and put it in the Xbox360...
My theory is
:
___________
A PC SATA DVD-DL Rom has a Single Motherboard/Card like thing inside it which can be taken off.
The Xbox360 SATA DVD-DL Rom also has a Single Motherboard/Card like thing inside it which can be taken off.
So if I take that Motherboard/Card off a 360 Drive and put it in that SATA PC DVD ROM and put that SATA PC DVD rom in 360 will it work.
I have a LITE-ON Drive and want to replace it with a Lite-On PC drive.
I just want to know that will it work or has anybody tried it.
Because if it works then It would help a million 360 Customers...
