What kind? Slim or Phat?

Just to let u know, A phat is much better for modding because you can use all emulators (snes, nes, sega etc) Most emulators require firmware version 1.5 to work (one of the first, and the greatests, psp firmwares). The slim psp is not capable of supporting this.

Wait. I thought there were some emulators that were compiled using the later kernel and not the 1.5 kernel?

I have a phat myself, but I have a friend thats as much into modding as I am and I'll check with him and see. I'm almost certain he's got some emulators on his but I may be thinking of something else. I'll report back.

Just so everyone will know, there are emulators for the PSP slim&lite. I just took a couple of minutes and found a list of them. Here are a few from the list I found:

PAP Atari v1.1.0
DoxBos V0.71.26.11.2007.2
PSP MAME4ALL v4.9r2 Hires

There are more, but I just listed a few.

Remember cofree, that if your going to make a pandora set, you'll need access to a PSP thats modded already. Check the phat that you bought and let me know what firmware it has on it and I'll do the research for you and let you know what you need from there. In case you don't know how, just go into the system information and it should tell you what version it is there.

Actaully you do not need a modded psp anymore. You used to not but anymore! There is a little trick and hopefully cofree has a little soldering experience:

If you put a wire that connects those two spots, the psp should go into service mode (which is the goal for pandora battery) I have never tried this but it is sopposed to work, but there a few diffrent psp batterys for the phat.

I had been reading about that. But I still don't quite understand how you configure the memory stick without the aid of a modded PSP. The guide I read said that one of the legs on the chip needs to be clipped, you could add a switch I suppose. I'll have to read that thing again if I can find it.

Easily done with pandora.

I found a guide that should make it pretty simple to create the memory stick. Just follow the part for creating the stick from a bricked PSP, it's labeled Process #2 in the guide.

I'm going to send you a "PSP care package" here in just a few minutes, or just as soon as I can get it together. It will have everything you need to create the memory stick. I would just do the trick that Freebeer was talking about on the battery. Seems easy enough to do.

I'll PM you when your care package is ready cofree, oh and here is that guide I was talking about:

It's taking me a little longer than I expected to get everything together. But I'll get it to you as soon as I can man.

EDIT:
Just sent you that information so when your ready, you'll be prepared.

the care-pack was bigger than i was thinking

so the only way to do this is with me doing the solder trick to the battery
