Cygnos, a team of dedicated console "technicans" is proud to anounce the upcoming release of our first product called "Cygnos360". Cygnos360 is a modchip for the easy installation directly onto the underside of the xbox360 mainboard.

Cygnos360 is a dual kernel modchip which adds a secondary NAND flash to the xbox 360 mainboard. It allows switching between the onboard NAND flash and the Cygnos360 NAND flash. By doing so, users can have an exploitable kernel version such as "4532" or "4548" at the same time as the current kernel version required to play the latest games. Cygnos360 can also be used for switching between kernels patched with different region codes so that users can easily switch between US and EU games for example.
Cygnos360

A quick summary of the features:
- adds secondary flash to hold an "alternative kernel" that users can switch to
- fits directly on the bottom side of the xbox360 mainboard
- needs only one wire running on the board
- easy to use "quicksolder pads" which at the same time make sure that the modchip is stuck to the mainboard and does not fall around.
- has solder pads for external switch
- comes with on PCB status LED
- comes with solder pads for external status LED (LED not included)
- Cygnos360 is delivered empty!

Let us know man! I've wanted them to make a chip. Maybe a chip will allow us to download games to the hard drive directly.

well this chip will let you down grade you kernel to a exploitable one.\
i think at that point you can run some home brew.
ive not looked into much
untill now the chip to do that was a pain in the backside. ;)

Wouldn't this only apply to the consoles that have 1888 as a base??

I guess you could install the original kernel(s) onto the other NAND, but would the console accept this if it was a repaired or new one??

I hope this does make all boxes 'exploitable'.... if more people are able to run homebrew, then more people are developing it (come on XMBC :P)....

its my understanding
the chip will let you run a exploitable kernel
no mater what kernel you are on.

basically, you would be running dual NAND flashes. Just not at the same time. When you have the switch set one way, your running the stocl nand flash. Switch it the other way and it affectively turns off the stock nand flash on the mobo and then runs the nand flash thats on the add on PCB with what ever kernel you've put on it. It ships blank so you would have to either have a vulnerable kernel or download one. I haven't seen these available for download, but I haven't looked either.

After checking out their forums, this chip might be a hassle. Seems you have to have and exploitable box to start with and you have to know the CPU key on top on that. That means that for all intense purposes, you've already got an infectus on a vulnerable box and know how to dump the nand any way. The main purpose for this is to be able to change regions. They say once you have your exploitable kernel put onto the Cynos360, you can then upgrade your live kernel and with the flip of a switch, go back to your vulnerable kernel. And if you want to play on live, you have to use your live kernel. To me, all that adds up to it being pointless.

yea that is crap
i read about playing out of region game
that was one of the things i liked.
but
crap if you need the old kernel any way what is the use to someone with a updated console.

i was thinking you put in this chip
then run the hash attack(or what every its called) get your key.
flash in the old kernel and off you go.
crap what a downer.
