im using verbatim 8.5gb 2.4x
lite-on dvd dl burner
xbox bckup creator v2.7
dump at 2x
burn at 2.5x
the 360 seems to read the games but with the some of the copied games and torrnets it seems to only read the beginning of the game but then gets stuck with the disc error. For exmple with madden09 that i backuped it sometime work and some times it doesn't and when it doesnt it say disc error but when it does it plays normally. i dont know if its the 360 f/w or not i tring to see if i make it slower the (f/w) will it be able to read the files better? i no it will take longer to read.

u could attempt to re-flash at slower speed - it really is a process of elimination
in all honesty if u have to use a slower a speed there is definatly a problem with either your burner, discs or xbox dvd drive.
u just need to decipher the root cause.. re-flashing the drive to a lower speed will help isolate the problem @ no cost

that is the first thing i would do is reflash at 8x and see how it goes.
the one thing you did not tell us is what dvd drive do you have in your console.
i have been reading of more and more older hit dvd (NOT v78 or v79)drives starting to give trouble.
If you have a older hit dvd drive you maybe looking onto a pot tweak.
does it ever happen on a orig disc.

IT WORKS!!!! it seems that both 12 x and 8x was to fast to read the disc. so i just went and tried the 2x just to see what
will happen and then i hear that the disc drive do a smooth read and everything works. The only difference i see is that is
only take about 10 secs longer to load a game. I dont get why at 8x or 12x wont read. Does it have to do with the burning
process of the game? i know that burning slow ensures that u dont skip any files, but what if i was to burn at 12x and
ixtreme was set to 12x? will it read?
because i figured now that it works, if the games was burned at 2x, and ixtreme is set to read at 2x and it read, wont it be the same for 12x.
but after a week finally working!1! thanks to you all that help me, really apreciated.

nope.. u are working it out wrong
always burn discs at 2.4x - no greater
burning faster does not skip files but the integrity of the disc is reduced if u burn it faster

that being a v28 drive if you have to run at 2x then there is something wrong somewhere
the backup is not burned or the v28 drive laser is going out.
if you are happy then that is all that matters but there is definitely some thing wrong.

Yea I think somethng is wrong with my lAser because I just flashed my bros hitachi drive
And I test one of the games that I burned and it worked like a charm so I'm thinking if I was to spoof a
Hitachi drive will I still be able to use the ms28 without doing any confguration?( if hitachi was to go bad also)
Will I have to reflash the ms28 or will it be just plug
n play? Well I'm waiting for shipment of my hitachi drive. Thanks again
