Re: new iprep v8
just tested the lite-on key extraction // did not work in vista but I blame vista! it's shite!!
I never do any flashing/modding in vista - my system is dual boot & I always boot into xp anyway so no problems there for me
it worked in xp but only with usb on com port 3 with ck3 drivers -
Didn't have any joy on the serial connection but I blame my com port settings as I have them setup for use with cable modem hacking
Will do some test dumps & flashes on other drives later - it looks good so far.

Re: new iprep v8
I can't try the new iprep the way it is. It won't let me select the hard drive the way it used to so I can set it up on my pc. It only allows me to select a jump drive and nothing else.

Re: new iprep v8
On another note though, I've been playing around with the CK3. I like it alot. I even tinkered around with dosflash32 and a old thought to be dead samsung drive. I actually got it working with dosflash16. mtkflash would just tell me no device present. Tried dosflash16 in automode. At first it kept trying to send the vendor codes, but would not recognize the drive. I rebooted, left the drive powered off till I ran dosflash in automode, when it asked to send the vendor codes, I told it no. Then turned the drive on. Then I was able to select the drive from the port list, selected to read, and named the dump test.bin. I got a valid dump. Seems it was already on ixtreme 1.4 so I downloaded a fresh stock firmware, injected my key, made a fresh hacked firmware and was able to flash it in dosflash16 automode without sending the vendors.
So then I played around with dosflash32. I was able to get that to work, although the 10 second trick would not work. I tried varying these times from 2,4,6,8,10,12 all the way up to 20 seconds but it would not recognize the drive on the sata port. I was all but ready to give up on it when I remembered my 0800 disk. Still in windows mind you, closed dosflash32, turned the drive off and then back on, quickly inserted the 0800 disk. Counted 10, ejected the disk. Opened dosflash32 and it instantly opened to the correct port with the drive identified and everything. Dumped it and then reflashed it. I had to do the 0800 trick again before it would flash though.
All that made me curious, so I fired up iprep and low and behold, mtkflash works like it should now as well. 10 Second trick did work with that though.
Sorry for babbling, just thought that was interesting.

Re: new iprep v8
Hi I have used iPrep lots of times for samsungs/benqs as its very easy to use (thanks Klutsh)
Having just watched Cofree's excellent video tut (thanks Cofree) on doing the liteon with iPrep I need a bit of advice.
As I use a probe to get my keys , is it ok to make my flash file with jungle then name it Lit-CFW
and place it into my BACKUPS>1234567>12345 folder and proceed to write with iPrep ?

Re: new iprep v8
Yes. You can do that and there is another way as well, but I would recommend using iprep for now.
