Wasabi has a new disk that can let you do different things with the chip.
I have to try this out. Any of you already did try this ?

Yeah, I've tried it out. The most prominent part of this is the ability to block updates from the game disk. Other than that, you can turn region free on or off, region free is not by any means 100%. I think there is a compatibility list out there some where but I haven't experimented with imports myself. You can also control the game cube audio fix and the drive read speed. Maximum read speed is 6x.
You have to update the chip before it will allow you to use the features though.
