ok guys
I had to do this the other day and was think i would post about it. :D

I had a console go RROD on me and i was done messing with it so i wanted to move my xtra-content over to the new console.
I had been playing with my hard drive on the new console with no problem, but i could not play my stuff off line. :(

So i started the prosses of moving over the stuff.
I had my gamer tag signed in to live and did the steps on xbox.com
BUT
some where in the middle i wanted to use the HD that came on the console to start with.So i changed out the HD that was on it(my orig HD) and put the HD that came with the console on.I mover my profile over on a card and was thinking all was well.
then started downloading all my downloads again like they said do.

after i was done none of my stuff would work off line.
after thinking about it for a day.
I remembered that i had changed the HD around.
So i put my orig HD back on the new console and re-downloaded my stuff and it works fine now.

I guess what im getting at is if you are going to do this.
You need to use your orig HD on the new console.

I'm not sure why you can not use a new HD.
My thinking was that i would move thing on to a new HD just to use a new HD
I have been using this HD for 3 years now,and just dont want the HD to crash on me.
I mean think about it
xbox360 hardware is not the best in the world. :o

you have to relince that content to your new console with your old HD.
have a look here.

:O Last time I had to switch profiles, I just transfered my save games via memory card, then for my downloads, I just went to account management > Download history, and downloaded all that stuff again. Took me about 2 hours to transfer everything, and to queue up my stuff.

I'm getting a new Elite (non-flashed for online play) and I was wondering if it is possible to transfer media usage rights to the new console, while keeping all the XBLA games on my old drive? So I can still play them on my banned console? Here's what I was thinking:

1. Use xplorer360 to create a backup image of my current 60gb drive.
2. Connect the 60gb to my new 360 Elite and transfer media usage rights to the console.
3. Remove the 60gb drive and connect the Elite's 120gb.
4. Redownload all my purchased XBLA games from Live
(that would get all my XBLA purchases running on the Elite, right?)

5. Use xplorer360 to restore my 60gb HDD to it's original state
6. Connect the 60gb to my banned 360 and play the XBLA games

Would this work?

It sounds like it should work.

Actually, it looks a little bit easier than that...

^ Transfer licenses, then download. Looks like I was overcomplicating things, as usual
