Ok 1st off i'm getting myself confused.
So i'll ask 1 question & take it from there......
Can you just swap the drives over????
because i have 1 non-flashed drive that struggles to open & 1 flashed drive that works but console is dead.....
Cheers

no - the drive key must match with the console (they are paired)
you will have to dump the bad drive & extract the key - then dump the new drive & inject the key from the original drive & flash it over.

if its the same dvd drive
you can just change out the pcb board in the dvd drive.
that has your key and info on it.
but
it has to be the same dvd drive.

Easier than flashing the drive. Just take out the four screws, unhook the ribbon cables, take out the board, repeat the process on the other drive, swap the boards and reverse the disassembly.

niiice work guys
I know u can swap boards but personally I prefer to have a fresh drive rather than a 'chop shop' job if I can..
personally I don't have any problems with flashing drives - I think timewise it's about the same to dump, dump / inject the key & flash as it is to exchange the parts... & there is a risk of damaging the ribbons removing them & re-inserting them // the leaf contacts are quite frail & peel back easily!.
Glad u got it sorted - thats all that matters

It was just so much easier......
my PC isn't the most accessible at the moment so just doing the PCB's was the way to go.

It is easier to do a circuit board swap. I think it's easier and quicker than doing a flash.
