Just for ease and sake of clarity for people looking for info related to specific firmwares, I'm going to put all my posts about 2.2 in this thread
Just a heads up to anyone thinking about it- there's no jailbreak for the Second Gen Ipod Touch running firmware 2.2 yet. The dev team wanted to unlock the 3g before turning attention to the pod. Now that the unlock GUI is coming in a few weeks tho, it may only be a matter of weeks.
You can jailbreak the 1st Gen Ipod Touch running 2.2 tho.

redsn0w has been released to jailbreak your 2nd gen ipod touch running 2.2 (works on 2.2.1 also).

Wooo finally I got a second gen for christmas now i can "jailbreak" it. Thanks for the info.

Just a heads up that its still a tethered solution for now. I would guess at the least a few weeks before you can jailbreak it with something like quickpwn.

Its unteathered ATM, but as far as I know there is no GUI for hacking... IE there is no new version of quickpwn, theyre updating it...
