BenQ VAD6038 + dosflash

Being impatient I decided to go ahead and flash my drive to 1.5. I used firmtool to make the new firmware and then used iprep + dosflash to write the new firmware. My question is this: after I successfully flashed the new firmware I reentered dosflash to make a dump of it by using the R command. When it asks me to select which drive I want I choose the VAD6038 but then it fails to unlock it using the Magic28 unlock. It then passes me onto the Germania unlock which is not for me. How can I erase the flash if I wanted to now that dosflash won't let me even read the drive although it detects is as VAD6038?
(Apparently the lite-on half-tray thing can be used to unlock the BenQ in dosflash. I will try it once my CK3 pro comes in. I've been using xeno kit.)
Btw, I have the drive hooked up and is reading backups but have not signed into my profile nor gone on Live. I want to make a dump of it and be sure before I proceed. Also IX1.5 def for iprep has been updated (prior to flashing).
I realize it's a bit early to be asking this question but hoping an answer will come eventually. Thanks !
EDIT**
When Magic28 unlock failed in dosflash I then unplugged the power connector from my driver after I had ejected the tray, pushed it half way in, plugged the connector back in, and it read the drive instantly. I dumped the flash and checked it in Jungle and all is good !
