Hello, everyone my first post here but I been lurking and getting all the data I need. I read the tutorials regarding my Benq drive in my 360. I used the Iprep version 8 and the iextreme benq 1.5. I follow all the instructions and created the usb boot file on my 1gig flash drive. So I disconnected everything from my pc and booted from the flash drive. I get the windows boot flash screen and then it drops me on the to the C: prompt and there is where I am stuck. I tried typeing dosflash from there but it just returns there is no ATAPI detected. But shouldnt this start up by itself? I read that manual a few times more to see if I missed something but I can't see it. here are the current files and folders in the flash drive if it helps.

man
i have not messed with iprep8
but
i have used iprep.6.2
under tool>check for updates.
it should get the new def update.
after that the new v1.5 benq firmware will load in and it will dump/flash
like this video
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=277" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

remeber to stop after the dump and check and make a backup of your firmware
check it with firmware tool box for a good key

a) Did you copy over the new ix1.5 def file to program files\iprep\resources?
b) Did you make the new firmware with firmtool? (firmtool orig.bin hacked.bin)
c) Does your sata card work normally in Windows? What driver revision do you have installed?
d) Open JungleFlasher and click the DVDKey32 tab. Select each different I/O Port from the dropdown box and eventually you should find your BenQ drive listed (mine is 0xEC00).

I did my BenQ in dosflash (w/iprep 8) and it listed all 6 of my native sata ports as well as my 2 VIA ones.

Yes
b) Did you make the new firmware with firmtool? (firmtool orig.bin hacked.bin)
I thought with Iprep when I get to the dos prompt it would copy my original bin and use the Benq bin then make it the correct one, the problem is I can't even get to the iprep screen when I boot from my flash drive.
c) Does your sata card work normally in Windows? What driver revision do you have installed?
yes my SATA works all my Hardrives are on SATA.
d) Open JungleFlasher and click the DVDKey32 tab. Select each different I/O Port from the dropdown box and eventually you should find your BenQ drive listed (mine is 0xEC00).
as mentioned above I havent even reach that far.

I will give the Iprep6.2 a try instead, it just not booting is my problem i can get to the screen it just leaves it at C: prompt hopefully the other version will work instead. I did do check for update but I also manually copied the idef file into the folder as well.

*update so I downloaded the 6.2 but when I tried to load the 1.5 benq fw I got a JIT compiler error, Now have to figure why I am getting that, I saw some old post regarding it. I am going to try to see if I get the same error if I run it off my XP operating system.

I would juts use either dosflash32 or jungleflasher. You can do it from windows and not have to worry about booting from a flash.

I was trying to find some updated tutorials on those. Although it would be great to do it from windows but I feel using the Iprep is best since I only have to have the flash drive and the xbox drive connected and will not risk messing anything else up on my PC. But I will continue to search information on those you mentioned.

ok So I figured it out, I thought that my .net framework was correct so I went and downloaded the new version from microsoft and it fixed the error issue. I did use the iprep 6.2 though and it worked perfectly. I have flashed the benq drive and I am ready to go, thanks everyone!

So I wanted to do my brothers inlaw 360 drive to flash, since the final version of Iprep 8.8 was out I decided to use that one. So I install it and add the new idef file in the resource folder and when its time to load the firmware into iprep for the Benq drive I keep getting an error that its not a valid firmware. I was using vista for this one. So I go into my xp boot up and try the same thing with iprep 8.8 and same thing so I am like why can't I make this work I had the same issue with the beta version of Iprep 8 before the final one, and I went ahead and did it with iprep 6.2 which does work with no problem. I turned my UAC off in Vista, Ran as administrator, made sure I had the latest .net installed and still could not make it work, my system is 32bit by the way.

Now since I used iprep 6.2 will it make a difference? Both 360 i flashed with this do play backup, just hoping that I did not miss anything by not getting 8.8 to work.

it is fine.
the new iprep8.8 does not need a def update.
what you did was put in a older def file that would not load in the 1.5 firmware.
