Nintendo Partners for Streaming Vids

Kyoto-based Nintendo has partnered with top Japanese advertising company Dentsu to develop a streaming video service for the Nintendo Wii in 2009.
According to an AFP report, Nintendo is developing original programming that would be accessible via the Wii's Internet connection for Japanese Wii owners.
Nintendo is considering free and paid content for the new service.
The company already streams some videos via the Wii's online "Nintendo Channel," which often features information on Wii and DS games. In January, Nintendo is set to launch Everybody's Theatre Wii, a service that will allow Japanese users to view TV episodes via the games console.
It's unclear exactly what kind of original Nintendo programming will be presented via the Dentsu service, although the report says that the companies plan to expand it into markets outside of Japan.
"Nintendo and Dentsu shall use the environment surrounding the Wii so that living rooms with Wii-ready TVs would become more of a fun area for communication among families and friends," the companies said in a statement.
