It's the easiest to get a wii-clip, but there are so many clones out there. The clones do not work very well. There have even been some reports of them breaking pins on the chip.

I would just solder it up if it were me.

without knowing what drive you have, you might have to get a new chip if all you got is a v1 wasabi. You might look into the wasabi zero. It's solderless and is compatible with all the drives right now. But it's not on the market yet, still in production.

The V2 wasabi is compatible with these drives: DMS, D2A, D2B, D2C, D2C2 (rev.2) and D2E (rev.3)

Like I said, modchipcentral.com has the wasabi zero in the solder in version at the moment. They don't have the solderless version yet.

Here is a link to the install diagram:

Well, I've never bought from them before so I don't know. It's the only US reseller listed on the wasabi site though.

Some food for thought:

Newer wii drives are showing up with epoxy covering the pins that all current chips use. There's also the flatmii coming out. It's a solderless pcb that allows you to use backup images off the computer through the wii over usb.

Not for sale yet tho...

I would give the softmod a try...

It's pretty easy to do (all you need is an SD card and an original Twighlight Princess)... It's a little more difficult if it's a new one, cos it will have 3.4 on it (anything above 3.3 requires a downgrade).

GBATemp is the place for this, you'll find all the information and most the files from there...

PM me, and I can help you out with the files you'll need ;)

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card! :Phttp://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm
Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!
