How do I validate a benq flash?

Hey There,
I believe that I've been using all of the latest software from xbins.
I've flashed my benq drive.
How do I validate what I believe that I put on the drive?
Although things went smothly and looked much like the video tutorial that I watched ...
I can't play my backups.
I can play my origionals ... so it doesn't appear that I've caused damage.
I'm using memorex +R DL.
I've read that there can be issues there.
I'm in the process of getting new media.
But ... while I'm waiting ... I'd like to test the drive to find out what firmware it's got on it.
Are there other questions that I should be asking?
Thanks in advance,
-- Brian

try using verbatim and see what happens and also check your 2 firmwares with toolbox for the key which should have different numbers and letters and should be same on both firmwares.

well you could dump it again(not flash) then open
that dump in firmware toolbox and see what it says you have.
but
trying to play a backup is the best way to test it.

Thanks for the idea ... I will give that a try and post my results.
In the mean time ...
Is there a better drive to use to actually burn the backups?

most all good working Dl burner will work fine.
just remember to dump your game slox 4x speed
and
burn even slower at 2.4x speed.

As it turns out ...
I understood how to flash the drive just fine.
How to burn the backups ... not so much.
I found documentation on that and then no worries.
For anyone as confused as myself.
You can't use nero.
Use ImgBurn ...
Set the book type to DVD-ROM ... For the media that you're using ... for the drive type that you're using.
And load the iso off of a .dvd file.
That will specifiy the layer offset as well as the iso that it's for.
I had a twist in vista ...
I did a search for the .dvd
and did a double click off of that ...
"Don't do that"
imgburn couldn't find the iso ...
my guess is some relative path thing
Cheers,
