hello guys wonder if you could answer a few questions i have

i have now flashed 2 liteon drives the first with jf now i know there is problem using jf with a via card which i have the vt6421 i also have 2 onboard sata ports and another 2 with promise not via thats where my windows is installed i reinstalled windows the night before i flashed it just did,nt install any via drivers worked a treat

the second drive was a compleate nightmere i wanted to use iprep but i could,nt get the key with the probe in dos as i know cofree is having trouble with managed to flash it though

i have a friend that wants me to flash his liteon now i would like yo use jf so do i have to uninstall all the via drivers even the onboard ones or just the 6421

also if i was to use the iprep way how do i check that my com port is working right it shows up in divise manager as com 1
and why do i keep getting drive key errors in iprep using the probe i have all the right cables btw to go from the ck3 to the com port

also i have just updated the drivers for the via after this the vt 6421 now shows as 3249 does this look right downloaded them from via arena file 5.80c

Well, my probe works great, but I use jungleflasher exclusively. I don't know about using iprep with the lite-on drives.

You can try to get the key in JF and then go into DOS and flash

edit: I thought JF isn't safe to use because it messes up some information after you erase the original FW (I actually just posted in another thread related to that issue).

lol! you make the soldering of the 707 point sounds so easy. . . that point is so small, funny thing is, before i opened the lite-on drive for the first time, i only saw the diagrams of the board and the diagram makes it look so big, when i opened the drive and could barely see it i was like whaaaaaaaaaat! lol! if you solder the point together everytime then you're nice with it! the screwdriver method is working for me, im 3 for 3 now. . .

imastud you should rock out with iprep, that thing works perfectly with the via card and just try to bridge the connection with a mini flathead screwdriver
