backing up my xbox 360 game

hi - got a few xbox 360 games that i want to make back up copies, just incase they get lost or scratched...whats the best way to do this?..........read a tut somewhere, where you open up your dvd rom drive to gain access to the laser...you also use a original dvd movie whaich has to be over 8gb in size.plus some software....the problem is i havent got a movie that is around this size..just normal 4.7gb movies.....what other choices have i got ?....can i use a original xbox360 game ?.

Your best bet is to get a samsung/toshiba flashed with Kreon firmware as it saves all the hassle. The method you're referring to is hotswapping the disc but its a pain. Invest in a Kreon drive and you won't regret it.

hmmmm thought i wouldnt have to buy another drive....lol...anyway......ive got here with me a dvd rom drive that i took out my pc to replace with a dl burner.....its it ASUS drive....model no : DVD-E616P3...can the firmware on it be modded so it can become a kreon drive ?...just a thought.....ta

Sorry man. There are only a small amount of SAMSUNG drives that will work with the kreon firmware. The most popular being the Samsung SH-D162C, there are a couple of other drives that will work, but they are all samsungs and in the SH-162C family either IDE or SATA version. Ebay is you best bet for one because Samsung no longer makes these drives.
