Got a liteon drive sent me , when i plug it into the ck3 device the blue led on the ck3 flashes and the drive will not respond when pressing the eject button on the ck3 , anyone know what the problem is thank`s

That could be the drive or the ck3. Have you done a lite-on with this ck3 before?

Sounds like its been dumped and partially erased but i don't know why the led is flashing. Wonder if it's been plugged in upside down and burnt or if it maybe a problem with your ck3, have you tried it on another drive? Never known a ck3 to flash.

I thought it might be the ck3 so hooked it up to a spare drive and it worked ok , so its looking like its the liteon drive thats the problem then , is there anything i can do with that besides launching it out of the window.lol

Sounds like someone has tried to flash it and failed. No chance of using dosflash commands on it? Might be game over for it mate

yeah think it might be , will have another play with it tomorrow and see what happens , thanks for the input its appreciated.

He said he has had a go at flashing it and failed to do anything with it and the soldering is a bit of a mess , so maybe that is the problem

well if even one spot of solder was crossed with a different point than the 707 to the other 707.
and the power was put to it .
i would bet its game over for that dvd drive.

Just an update , can get the dvd drive to eject before the blue led flashes but once the led starts to flash there is no response from the drive no matter what i do.I have given up on it now.

if you put it in a 360 (any 360) right now.
will it play a movie or open
anything.

I will try that today then and see what happens.I tried that many things yesterday that in the end i could not remember what i had tried and what i had not tried , gave myself a pounding headache.lol

Put it in a 360 it would only eject the tray , nothing else.I`m going to send it back , spent enough time on it now.

The bloke has just been in touch with me , he recieved his drive back this morning he put it back in the 360 and it still plays originals , so i dont know what was up with it when i had it.

When i couldn`t get the drive to be recognised in jungleflasher and iprep i thought it might have been the ck3 so i hooked up a spare liteon i have and both programs recognised that straight away , he has just told me it will eject out but will not go back in he has to push it back in , dont know if that sheds any light on the situation.
