burner??

I am getting a 360 for xmass and i have been doing lots of reading and i would like your opinions on what burner to buy?Also if im going to make a back up of my originals do i have to buy both a burner and a reader?From reading on the forum i belive i need both,so what one do you recamend?...thanks

I use a Sony DRU-830A to do all my burning. the Samsung SH-D162C Drive is the best choice for the game dumps. Yes to answer your question you will need both drives.

you have to get the sh-d162c drive on ebay they dont make it anymore
as far as the burner goes all you need is a good burner that will burn DL disc

i dont know that burner.if its a DL burner just give it a try.most of the newer burners will work

i got a samsung sh-d162c drive today.Now ive been looking but i cant find how to change fw and i dont see file for this drive or is it in a tool i need? is xbins a site?

most all the sh-d162c dvd drive ive seen come with v81 or v100 firmware in them already.
it dont have the firmware in it

yes the firmware is on xbins in the 360/firmware/hacked firmware/sh-d162c
if you need it and its quick in upgrade the firmware.

How can i tell what firmwear is on samsung sh-d162c ?

just open xbc v2.7 down in the text window it should list your drives.one of them should be sh-d162c ts05 then it will say what firmware is init. kreon v.81 or v1.00
on mine its the 2nd drive listed.

mine says v.60.I have to upgrade it correct?I cant find it on xbins and i cant seem to be able to dl anything.Can anyone help?...thanks

yep thats is the problem then

that is something you have to get from xbins
after you get it.if you have any questions just post
its easy to do
there is a read me in the file that will tell what to do.
